It takes a bloody long time to get to Australia from anywhere, except New Zeland. My flight from LA took 14+ hours. I'd forgotten how large a 747 really is.

Luckily Qantas knows how to treat it's passengers, and they start you off with a drink, a meal, and then it's off with the cabin lights. If you're lucky, you'll sleep through most of your flight. There's not much to see, it's dark, even if it weren't all that you would see is the ocean.I was fortunate in that I was in the first boarding group called. I got in and settled down for a long flight. I had a window seat, just aft of the wings.
Rather beautiful was sunrise, somewhere between the international date line and the East coast of Australia. I was wake for this, and shortly there after another meal was serverd. Did I mention that Qantas knows how to treat it's passangers? Must be REALLY nice in businesss/first class.
